17 weeks

Here she is, 17 weeks old and still chubby cute! Those cheeks get so many kisses! That smile is just the best thing ever. Especially when she's waking up and realizes you're there leaning over the crib. She flashes the biggest smile like you're the best thing she's ever seen.
We went on our first family vacation last weekend and Jenna got to go on her first hike!
Glad to be at the top!
We had a great time and Jenna did great traveling and sleeping in a new place. We enjoyed some great breakfasts at the B&B and found a place that had fish tacos on the menu - Yum! Cozy cabin, great food, nice hike, Michigan football, and some shopping for me. A perfect, relaxing getaway.

On the trip home, Jenna did need her pacifier for a little while. At one point I noticed that she had spit it out and then watched in amazement as she saw where it was, grabbed it, and put it back in her mouth!

Sweet Sixteen

16 weeks old today and so sweet! Over the past couple of days she has started doing raspberries and buzzing with her lips. Future trumpet player? Maybe. She's also become quite loud with her vocalization. Especially if I'm not giving her total attention. I think she's starting to realize that Daddy and Mommy are a little funny. She'll give an occasional giggle; sometimes at the most ordinary things. Every dress becomes a "blankey." Moments after this picture she was clutching her dress and sucking her thumb. If you look close, you can see a wet spot where she had been sucking on her dress and thumb before I sat her in the chair. So cute!

The Belle of the (foot) Ball (game)

(Waiting to go to the game. Hey, this dress makes a handy blankey!)

We had a busy weekend with the first game of the season. Jenna was a hit at the game and the band was too! We received lots of comments about how cute Jenna looked in her dress.

My friends Sarah B, Mollie, and baby Mattie (the other darling belle) came to the game with us. All these pictures are interfering with the nap that Jenna was trying to get. She really fell asleep (shortly after this picture was taken) in the midst of the band playing and the student section cheering.

Daddy did a great job! Jenna and I are so proud!
Cousin Judith was in town this weekend. She got to meet Jenna for the first time. We had a nice time - church, then eating, visiting, watching Judith's Japan video, and grading papers (thanks for the help Judith!).

15 weeks

I was getting kind of bored with the chair pictures, so I tried a new setting. I couldn't get her to look up and smile no matter what! She was either looking at the blocks, or not smiling when she looked up, or sucking her fingers. This one is good though because it's representative of what's she's doing a lot of lately - everything in the mouth!
So, I went back to the chair and got an immediate small smile. I guess she likes the chair best. Plus it gives good perspective for how she's growing.
She's really getting good at playing. This toy has a bar with dangly toys kind of like an abacus and she's really good at moving them back and forth.
Daddy likes to play with the toys too!
She is also getting better with her head control so we felt comfortable enough to try her front carrier. She fell asleep on our walk.

14 weeks

14 weeks today. It's gotten so much easier to capture her cute smile. This one is the first shot! She is still sleeping through the night (8-10 hours) and has just started noticing her hands and feet.
We had a big weekend with Papa, Mima, Uncle Geremy, Cousin Garrison and Gary and Debbie (Geremy's parents). We all had lunch on Saturday at our house, then Geremy and Garrison went on to Gary and Debbie's.

Jenna's first game day - Go Blue! Unfortunately, the game was embarrassing.

Jenna was laughing for the first time when Mima was changing her into this surprise outfit that she made. She hasn't laughed since though. I guess Mommy and Daddy aren't that funny!
This is a "Bumbo" seat that Aunt Heather found for us. It helps babies to sit up. So cute! We love it!
