After the rodeo, we met David, Katie, & Owen at the condo. We enjoyed Hernando's Pizza that they had ordered - yum! A little swimming after dinner to complete the day. (Matt, Leslie, & Lincoln spent the night at our house in Colorado Springs.)
Sunday, July 22nd - After church, Matt, Leslie, & Lincoln had arrived, so we all met for lunch at Carver's.
First time for the boys to see each other since Thanksgiving - pretty cute!
And they both loved Jenna!
A little swimming before dinner. They had so much fun doing Lincoln's swim class routine - "Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall. Humpty Dumpty had a great fall . . ."
"Ready! Go!" (Then they all jumped in!)
Cuddling cousins after dinner.
Monday, July 23rd - A little playground time in the morning.A little shopping time in the afternoon - Kellen found the perfect chair for him - red! And then had to be silly, of course!
Meanwhile, the guys had a successful fishing trip.
We had lots of fun with the babies!
Tried to go to the pool before dinner, but it was too crowded, so we went to the playground instead.
A yummy chili supper and then more fun with the babies!
Tuesday, July 24th - Resort Day! Last year, it rained at the end of our day, so we were able to get rain checks and go free this year! First stop - bungee jump because the lines get long later in the day.
Next stop - chair lift and alpine slide. Kellen was my chairlift buddy.
Jenna rode with Kevin
Ready for alpine slide round 2. Kevin, David, Owen in one lift, Jenna & me in the next.
Then Matt, Leslie, & Lincoln.
Ready for the fast lane!
The bounce house was for age 11 and younger, so we recruited Jenna to go in with the babies.
Kevin and I went in search for the best place to eat lunch and there were some shenanigans.
Mini golf after lunch.
They always have the most beautiful flowers! We enjoyed chicken tacos for dinner and swimming after.Wednesday, July 25th - Mom made breakfast - eggs, bacon, blueberry pancakes - yum! Lincoln got out his diaper and wipes. He was very methodical about laying out the wipes - so cute!
A little walk after breakfast.
Matt, Leslie, Kevin, Kellen, & I went fishing at St. Louis Creek.
My fishing buddy and me
Neither Kellen nor I caught anything, but it sure was pretty!
After lunch, we asked if Lincoln could have his nap in a different room so Kellen could have his much desired "bunk bed" time. He happily spent a couple quiet hours up there. Dinner and swimming rounded out the day.
First stop - Playground!
Matt, Leslie, & I hiked to Alberta Falls while the rest did a little shopping.
Then Jenna and Kellen spent a little time in the lake.
We had decided to get ice cream before lunch and then drive back toward Winter Park and stop at Pine Beach for a picnic. But, our favorite ice cream place wasn't open yet at noon.
So, we changed plans a bit and went to Pine Beach for our picnic first with the hope that our ice cream place would be open after.
It was a great picnic spot! (Jenna practicing her balance)
It was open, yay! Kellen thought this picture was going to be the silly one - so funny!
There was a lot of construction going on in Grand Lake this year. I thought this sign outside a coffee shop was funny!
While the babies napped, I took the kids to the pool. Kellen asked Jenna to teach him the back stroke and she did a great job! He had it down within about 5 minutes! (See videos in "Winter Park '18" folder.)
Thursday night, we gathered for a fish fry.
Leslie had the good idea to ask one of our friends to take a family picture for us.Frank & Jerry friends from Dad & Mom's Europe trip. Peggy & George friends Dad & Mom made when they stayed next door to them one summer. Enough fish for 12 adults and 4 kids! 30-40 some fish and they were good!
Friday, July 27th - We squeezed in some last time with Owen before David & Katie had to leave for the airport.
And we took a cute cousins picture.
Had to include the outtakes! Funny!
Some last cousin love.
After they left, the guys went fishing. And Mom, Leslie, Lincoln, Jenna, Kellen, & I went for a walk along the Fraser River Trail.
Found some wild raspberries to pick and eat.
And Jenna found a bear to climb beside.
We packed to go home during Lincoln's nap. And then enjoyed one last meal together at Hernando's Pizza. Kellen ordered spaghetti and meatballs. When his food came, there was just one giant meatball. He said, "Where's the meatballs, it says 'meatballs,' not meatball." Ha! A little bit later, I looked over and his napkin was covered in marinara sauce. I asked him, "Did you use that to wipe your face?" He said, matter of factly, "No. I used it to wipe my meatball!" Ha! Ha! Apparently, there was a little too much sauce on his meatball. After we ate, Matt, Leslie, Lincoln, Kevin, Jenna, Kellen, & I headed to our house. Matt, Leslie, & Lincoln spent the night with us and then traveled to Abilene on Saturday.
And so we say goodbye to our week in Winter Park. Such a special time to all be together each summer!
