Keathley Vacation

Friday, July 21st - Dad and Mom drove to our house. They had wanted to buy the kids cowboy boots, but with my surgery recovery, we had only been able to look at one place and didn't find anything. After dinner, we went to Big R and both kids found the boots of their dreams - red for Kellen, green for Jenna! Kellen loved his so much that he wanted me to take a picture of him kissing them.
Saturday, July 22nd - We all made the drive to Winter Park. The High Country Stampede Rodeo is every Saturday in July, and with Kellen's love of horses, we knew we had to go this year!
Between the Junior Rodeo and the main events, a tractor drove around smoothing out the dirt. We called it the Rodeo Zamboni!
There were some female riders that did an exhibition before the main events - really amazing trick riding!

David, Katie, & Owen flew to Denver and then drove in and met us at the rodeo. It was a fun show! (See video 5396 in Winter Park '17)
Sunday, July 23rd - We spent the morning relaxing and playing with Owen.
Then we went to church in Grandby. After church, Laura, Matt, Leslie, & Lincoln had arrived so we met them for lunch.
After lunch, we had a fun time watching the babies play in their matching outfits.
Paparazzi!

Owen and me
When the babies went for their naps, the big kids went to the pool!
Monday, July 24th - Kevin, Matt, & David went on a fishing trip and caught 24 fish between the three of them! Meanwhile, we stayed at the condo and played with the babies. (See video 2467 in Winter Park '17)

Owen - 10 months old!
For dinner, we went to our local favorite - Hernando's Pizza. Yum!!
After dinner, we went to the little playground near the condo. This set of swings was perfect for a cousins picture - youngest to oldest! (See video 2471 in Winter Park '17)

And, we had to try the babies out in the same swing! Oh, the things we grown-ups do! It was really cute.
Tuesday, July 25th - We went to the Winter Park Resort for some summer fun.

So many beautiful flowers at the resort!
Owen had a good long nap and even slept through being passed around!
Jenna and Kellen loved jumping!
We started a round of mini golf, but didn't finish because it started raining. The rain turned out to be a good thing, though because we were able to get rain check passes for everyone that we can use next summer!
While we waited for the rain to let up and for the magic hour when rain checks would be issued, we shopped a little in the resort shops. And, we saw this cool mural - each "pixel" is a separate picture!
We went back to the condo and the kids had fun swimming with Owen. Then, we enjoyed a delicious trout dinner.

We had to soak up our time with Owen Tuesday night, because they had to leave on Wednesday morning.
Wednesday, July 26th - We had to say goodbye to David, Katie, & Owen.
After lunch, Dad, Matt, & Kevin wanted to go fishing. Kellen wanted to go too and I went to help him. I was so glad that I could help him catch a fish despite still healing from my foot surgery 5 weeks before!
Happy boy!
3 generations of fishermen along this bank!
Grandpa and Kellen
It started raining, but Kellen wanted to keep fishing. His goal was 4 fish! So, they donned their ponchos and tried some more. No more fish were caught, but he was pretty happy with his one.
Paparazzi at bath time!
Thursday, July 27th - Grand Lake
These crazy kids loved getting in the ice cold water!
They also had fun playing on the playground.

Daddy tried it out, too!
Kellen found lots of horses in the stores.
The resort was having some preliminary events of the Freeride Festival. So while everyone else stayed in Grand Lake to shop and eat, Kevin and I went to see what we could see of the bike events.
Cute cousins!

We happened to be at Grand Lake during the same dates as 3 years ago! These pictures came up on Leslie's timehop feed. So, they re-created them. So fun!!
And now, this is one they'll have to re-create someday!
Friday, July 28th - Playing with Lincoln
We went on a stroll . . .
and saw this beautiful site.

Jenna and Kellen made up this little rhyme that involved shearing off and throwing seeds of some kind of grassy plant.

After lunch, we packed up to head home. We enjoyed having dinner with Laura, Matt, Leslie, & Lincoln. And then enjoyed having them spend the night at our house before they went to Abilene on Saturday. It was so fun and such a blessing to have everyone together for a week in the beautiful mountains!
