Kellen re-discovered the joy of an empty box. Complete with a snack and milk! He got all set up like this near the TV to watch a "b-ball moodie" (football or basketball movie aka game).
Jenna and Kellen typically play wonderfully together. Kellen wants to do everything Jenna does, of course! Right down to the dress up in princess dresses. Something had to be done about that, so I made them capes for Christmas.Jenna started reading right before the school Christmas break and is getting better every day. She has aced 4 spelling tests and will have one a week until school is out.
A few weeks ago, after putting Kellen to bed, I walked into Jenna's room toward the end of a baptism discussion between Kevin and Jenna. She exclaimed, "I want to do that!" We discussed waiting until she's a little older. She was quiet for a few seconds and then asked, "Can I wear my goggles?"
Kellen found this panda mask that Jenna made in VBS one year. It's pretty cute as a super hero mask!
Kellen's speech has just exploded since his birthday. More and more words everyday. I had planned to blog that whenever we ask his name or ask him to say his name, he would say, "Me." Another sign that I need to blog more often - he doesn't say that anymore. This week, on Wednesday Feb. 6th, he said, "Dellen," for the first time! We were all there together to hear it and we all went crazy cheering for him (he even cheered)! So fun!
Jan. 25th, Jenna's school had a family 50s style sock hop. But, Kevin and I had the annual CMEA dinner to attend. She wanted to go so badly that she talked Papa into taking her. He really got into the spirit and even went out and bought a pair of thrift store jeans. He hasn't owned a pair of jeans as long as I've known him! Wish I had been a fly on the wall.
