I wear my sunglasses inside

Jenna really loves wearing her sunglasses these days. She calls them "hat" probably because I often wear mine on top of my head.
We got this orange pair as a birthday party favor and put it in her toy box for fun. She loves to get them out and wear them! So goofy!
She's been having fun with animal sounds lately. She says, "woof, woof," "baa," "neigh," an occasional "oink" and we got one "moo" on Sunday. A few nights ago she was playing with her white Razorbacks piggy bank and kept saying "baa." Makes sense because most of the sheep in her books are white. I guess we still have some work to do.

The other day at lunch, someone asked what words she says. I named a few. Later, I sat down and started counting and including the new animal sounds came up with over 25. I am amazed!!!! Some more recent new words (can't remember when these started) are "bath," "snack," and "nap." Kind of fitting as we do a lot of those around here.

Have bus, will travel

Jenna is really busy these days, pushing her bus all over the house! No time to pose for a picture. Not walking on her own yet, but I think it will be soon. She took about 3 steps toward Dada and then back toward Mama on July 7th.
She often runs into things and gets stuck (the bus has no stearing). Sometimes she'll call out for help, sometimes she'll just wait patiently and look at you until you help her get moving again, sometimes, she'll get it turned around on her own.
I'm a little behind on words and achievement reporting. June 25th, "clock." Sometime soon after, "truck" (although, clock and truck sound very similar). July 5th, "peas" means please. July 12th, points to ear. July 13th, points to toes and belly button. Also, July 13th she hummed along with gloworm to "Hush little baby, don't say a word." Great pitch and rhythm and some other musical term that Kevin used.

Interesting food preferences: Loves lima beans and grapefruit. Strange dislikes: carrots, corn, and milk.

It's Monday the 14th now that I'm finishing this post. I wish there were some way for the post to actually record when I post it, not when I started the post. Anyway, everyone get ready for the new season of The Closer that starts tonight!! We cannot wait!!

Traveling Days Are Over

We returned recently from a trip to Wichita to see the Keathleys and Wards. We enjoyed some family time and a trip to the zoo, the park, and the Keeper of the Plains. Both the zoo and the Keeper are must sees if you ever visit.
