September

Sunday, September 2nd - We went to a band director friend's cabin near Buena Vista for the annual band directors' party.
They had a 300ft zip line that Jenna and Kevin had fun trying. It was a fun time!
Monday, September 3rd - We met at a park for a picnic for Heather's birthday. There was a BMX racing track that Kevin and the cousins tried. Then Jenna worked up her courage to try it.
She had a great first run, then had a crash during the second run. Proud of her for working up her courage, maybe she'll work up her courage to try again sometime.
Back in July, when Jenna was at camp, Build-A-Bear had a special promotion where you could pay your age for any bear. Papa was going to take Kellen as a special treat since Jenna was at camp, but the promotion was such a huge hit, that it was way too crowded to go that day. Papa still wanted to get him his "bear," and since then, they've been watching for "Toothless" to be in stock again. Saturday, September 8th was the big day!
So cute and fun! I love how Toothless's tail sticks out of the box.
Thursday, September 13th - Grandparents' Day at school. Each 6th grader wrote a poem about their grandparents and a few were chosen to read their poems during the presentation. Jenna's was chosen and she was so excited (and nervous) to read her poem!
In honor of Grandparents' Day, the kids had Friday off of school. So, Papa treated the kids to a night at Great Wolf Lodge.
They had a nice view from their room and had such a fun time!

Jenna even found a few friends from school to ride a few slides together.
Friday, September 21st - Our first time to go to a TCA football game and see the band!

The band did great & the football team won!
Thursday, September 27th - Field Day! This year, Jenna had her field day in the morning and then all the 6th graders helped the 1st-3rd graders in the afternoon.

Best buddies!
One of Kellen's favorite events

Face paint - always a favorite. They had a great day and were TIRED after!
Friday, September 28th - Jenna's turn to lead the school in the Pledge of Allegiance over the intercom. She also was able to do this October 1st (that's when I was able to go and take this picture).
Sunday, September 30th - Kellen and I slept in and rested after being up 3 hours in the early morning hours with Kellen vomiting. When Kevin and Jenna got back from church, Kellen felt good enough to continue with our plan to go for a drive to see the fall colors.

So beautiful! My favorite season.

We took a new route this year and stumbled upon Bishop Castle. It looked very interesting, but we were a little unsure, so we didn't explore this time.
Same with San Isabel Lake, we rounded a curve, and all of a sudden there it was! We got too far past it and couldn't find a place to stop. Next time, we'll know it's coming up and be sure and find a place to stop. So glad Kellen felt better so we could go see this beauty! We live in a beautiful place!
