Kellen pulled out his white elephant gift from Christmas and learned to cross stitch.
Papa bought Kellen a gemstone dig kit to work on one Saturday when the kids were over. Kellen became quite attached to the goggles and wore them everywhere for several days (including a trip to Home Depot for window blinds). And, I found these selfie gems on my phone after they borrowed it in the car.
January 23-25 - Kevin enjoyed another CMEA and All State Jazz. Kellen and I joined him at the annual band director friends' dinner at Edelweiss. Jenna enjoyed a Mima's Sew Fun weekend.
Jenna and a couple of her band friends decorated Kevin's office for his birthday, January 29th.
Kellen started a new bedtime routine. Instead of a song and story - wrestling! It's quite fun to watch!
February 1st - We took another trip to the Woodland Park Aquatic Center. The kids are really getting better at diving. (See videos in "Cousins" folder.) Then, in the evening we enjoyed the Middle School Honor Band concert - hopefully Jenna can audition for it next year.
February 4th & 7th - Snow days 5 & 6 of the school year. I was sad to have to work on the first of these snow days, but Kevin and the kids cleaned the house for me while I was gone. They rewarded themselves with a subscription to Disney Plus. So, we spent a good part of the next two snow days watching The Mandalorian and starting the Marvel movies.This picture is from February 7th - so much snow! It was beautiful.
February 8th - The sun came back out and it was a beautiful winter wonderland. Kellen sang with the Kidz Choir from church at a nursing home.
In the evening, Kevin and Jenna were off to the Daddy/Daughter Ball. I wanted to get a picture of Jenna in her coat and this is how she posed. Love her!
They had a great time. So silly together! Kellen and I also had a great time together - Chick-fil-A and a movie.
Sunday, February 9th - Kellen sang with the Kidz Choir at all four church services.
February 14th - Viking Day! (Rescheduled from February 7th snow day.)
Because it was February 14th, not only was it Viking Day, but they had a Valentine's Day party as well. Crazy! And, because this day was originally a teacher inservice day (added back in due to so many snow days), Kellen and I had dentist appointments scheduled. Dentist, Viking Day, Valentine's Day, and piano lessons! Whew!
Saturday, February 15th - We decided to go to an Air Force basketball game. We had never gone to one before and it was fun!
Sunday, February 16th - Kellen, inspired by watching some of the Marvel movies pulled out his Iron Man costume to wear while watching. Jenna enjoyed another Mima's Sew Fun time. The current project is making a stuffed animal. She's making a sloth and finished the face. So impressive!
Monday, February 17th - Papa and Mima took the kids to an indoor rock climbing place.
They LOVED it! We were surprised at how long they wanted to keep climbing and climbing!
Tuesday, February 18th - Snow Day #7 of the school year which made for a four day weekend. Jenna already had an orthodontist appointment scheduled for the day and I called and made a dentist appointment for her as well so she wouldn't have to miss school to go (she originally had an appointment on the 14th before it was added back in as a school day).
While we were out, we went to the library and I picked up my first prize of the Adult Winter Reading program. It's been so much fun!
Thursday, February 27th - After a long couple weeks of extra rehearsals for all bands - a huge concert night. 7th grade at 5:30pm, 8th grade at 6:30pm, and high school bands at 7:30pm. Whew!

Friday, February 28th - Kellen was out of school for the day for conferences. We went to get donuts at the grocery store and discovered he's not too big for the penny horse ride!
He went to a friend's house for some play time and I was able to finish my 8th book and get my second tier prize in the library's Adult Winter Reading Program - coffee mug.
We picked Jenna up from school and headed to piano lessons. On the way home from lessons, we saw these five deer. We grabbed a quick Chick-fil-A dinner, then the kids spent the night with Papa and Mima.
Saturday, February 29th - I went to work. Kevin went on a bike ride and then picked the kids up from Papa and Mima's. It's been a fun and FULL two months of the new year!
